Desi's Delectables has been a working traveling project for about 9 years, but became an official small business in 2018. I founded this "traveling bakery" to scratch my entrepreneurial itch and passion for baking. I am a self-taught baker learning predominantly from YouTube videos and other visual means. My first 2-tier cake back in 2011, for my brother, was my first meaningful cake. I began working more extensively with a variety of mediums, from fondant and gumpaste to buttercream and modeling chocolate. This eventually opened up my door for customizable wedding cakes and eventually cupcakes. In the past 3 years, I began learning French and Italian methods for macarons with success. Admittedly, Desi's Delectables was known as "The Scrumptious Duchess" though a reversion to it's original name made more sense. In this current day, 2020, with the urge for more e-commerce and flexibility, I have began selling my gourmet marshmallows too - ranging in a variety of flavors that take me back to childhood. I always joke that everything I made has a little added love, but it's truly serious. Baking, cooking, fermenting and all things food energize me.
